Who decides what books you carry?

Our store buyer curates the selection with input from our staff, customers, and publishing partners. We look for books that will sell and books that reflect our values—like diversity, inclusion, and support for local authors.

How do you get your books?

Most of our books come from major publishers and distributors like Ingram, along with titles from indie presses and local authors. Books by local authors are sold on consignment by writers in our community. They are shelved in their respective genres, marked with a yellow sticker so you can discover them naturally while browsing.

Why are some classics cheaper?

Books in the public domain—like Emma or Dracula—often have lower prices because their copyright has expired.

Why can't I buy a book before its release date?

Even if we receive books early, we're required to wait until the official release date to sell them—or we can get fined by the publisher.

How are books organized in the store?

We shelve books by major genre—like fiction, nonfiction, children's, and more—and then alphabetically by the author's last name within each section. This makes it easy to browse by topic and find your favorite writers. We also have sections for New Books, Best Selling Books, and Staff Picks.
